Kdrama Hours Watched on Netflix in 2023

In 2023, Netflix started releasing their engagement reports, detailing viewer hours watched for each television show and movie in their catalog. They released the data in two sections, each representing half a year. The latest report dropped today, May 23, 2024.

Before Netflix started published this report, the only other information they released is the weekly top 10 data for English television and movies and non-English television and movies. This dataset included each top 10 position, weeks on the list, hours watched and sometimes hours viewed (the hours watched divided by the drama/movie length in hours). This information was great and offered a good insight, but I was always curious as to how the Top 10 list compared to actual hours watched, for kdramas specifically.

By combining the two engagement reports and adding up each dramas' respective totals, the following list of the top kdramas on Netflix by hours watched:

In contract, here are the top kdramas listed by weeks spent on the Top 10 for Non-English TV shows and their respective hours during that time:

As you can see, there are some notable differences between the two. More comments and reports will be forthcoming. I will continue to tweak this data when more information comes in, but I wanted to get these numbers out quickly.
